John Ike has been practicing architecture and design in New York City for over three decades. John travels widely, and his design aesthetic is influenced by the built legacy and regional inflections he sees on these trips, particularly the Italian and Scandinavian precedents. Before co-founding Ike Kligerman Barkley, John worked for Robert A.M. Stern, under whom he had studied for his Master of Architecture degree at the Graduate School of Architecture at Columbia University. John received his Bachelor of Arts in biochemistry from Colorado College. He also has a particular interest in interior design, and has collaborated on the glass furniture line Chroma D with photographer Irene Mamiye. John is a father of three, as well as an avid hunter and fisherman. In his spare time, he works on his mid-century modern residences in New Jersey and San Diego.
